After hours and hours (mostly because the website I used to create it is slow) of work the website is here!!! Bear in mind I'm not a skilled website designer! And I can change the design/layout very easily! But have a look at what I've put up and let me know what you think. It would also be helpful to get more info about the profiles (previous clubs, etc). rottenrowhc.weebly.com

Outstanding.
Simple and has all that we need, and I assume it's easy to update? That's the most important thing.
Quality use of facebook to steal photos too. Impressed by the entire selection.
Feedback: I don't think we need an "About Us" section. Just put that stuff on the "Home" tab (because I think you need a "Home" tab but at present it doesn't have much information on it)
Maybe later a tab linking visitors to our pub? This could also be something we offer them when we request sponsorship. A wee map to it/directions would also help opposition teams know how to get there after games.
On the "Find the Pitch" tab it would be better to have the directions rather than a link to the uni website. Just copy and paste. Can we paste a google map on there?
And, while I love the Bill Stickers picture (quality) could the "Forum" tab not just launch a new window with the forum in it?
Pedantic, yes, but you asked for feedback.
Finally, it doesn't come up in Google. It's early days and I have no idea how it works, but how do we make it come up when someone google's Rottenrow?

It is easy to update.
Cheers for the feedback! Very helpful!
Ok, I'll put the "about us" bit on the home page. I had it like that up until the last minute and then changed it so it is easy to put on one page.
Yeah, good idea about the pub tab. I'll add that.
Yeah, I should tidy up the "find the pitch" tab. I can jpg a google map and stick it on there too.
Hmmm, I'm not sure about the "forum" tab launching in a new window. But I will have a closer look.
Not pedantic at all. We want everything perfect!
I have registered the website with google. I think they put it on a waiting list and will eventually have a look and add it. I will have a check though and make sure that is the case.
Thanks!

Feel free to "exalt" me to show your appreciation!
I'm looking forward to your match reports Ally! If you would like me to add any pre-pre-season words on to your match report page then let me know. It would be good to hear from the man himself.

Google search listing just happens after a few weeks, normally you don't even need to submit it, the bots scan the whole internet. Optimisation's a whole career in itself, but general traffic/usage, links to/from the site and the number of instances of 'rottenrow' and 'hockey club' on the pages are probably the big ones for getting it near the top. (Scott if you want to tell me I'm talking sh*t just spare us the gory tech details!)
So just keep looking it up and wait a few weeks! (We should be ok in the meantime, number one for 'rottenrow hockey club' is Ally's twitter page, I'm sure some eager newcomers could contact him!)

It's a pet hate of mine to link straight to another site from a menu option, don't know why (though it's not as bad as mailto: links which start up Outlook and crash my comp!). If weebly takes html, you could neaten it up with:
<a href="http://hockeyclub.proboards.com/index.cgi">Click here to visit the forum!</a>
or for an new window:
<a href="http://hockeyclub.proboards.com/index.cgi" target="_blank">Click here to visit the forum!</a>

I've submitted a "site map" to google so hopefully that will help!
I've also got rid of the "about us" page and put everything on the front page.
I'll do the pub tab in a minute.
I've tidied up the "find the pitch" tab. And even if I do say so myself, the map bit is awesome.
Cheers for the info Fettes! I have changed it! I also changed the picture to something more appropriate.
I think that is everything for now is it?! Did I miss anything?
Let me know if there is anything else!
